Kim, anything taken out of your body in surgery needs to go to the lab for pathology. Be it a polyp, tumor, an ear, an arm.. whatever. I presume that is why you weren’t allowed to have it.

When I had a polyp removed from my uterus, I specified that I get to keep my polyp. I wanted to keep it in a jar. Hey it was a part of me. And I went to a heck of a lot pain and inconvenience to have the damn thing taken out. They didn’t let me keep it. Damn doctors.
