The pigeon doesn’t necessarily want to be American… I think the picture is trying to say that it wants to be a Bald Eagle, the ‘king of all eagles’ and whatnot… Love the pictures!
oh my god. i just had to re-scroll through this page because i couldn’t believe how stupid you people are. “wy does the pigeon wanna be american lol” please go shoot yourself. quick.
the reason the pigeon wants to be american is because americans are the overall best people in the world. better than england, russia, etc. america is simply the best country in the world, in every aspect. plus, americans have huge penises. AMERICA! FUCK YEA!
shut up spidula, i know it’s a german name. i keep trying to change it to robert or something, but my parents won’t let me. back to my point. the third picture is not poignant at all. in fact, it should be an inspiration to all non-Americans reading. we seriously should just take over the world already. we have the technology and weapons. however, it’d just be easier for every other race to come out with their hands up. that way, nobody gets hurt
charles is being..um… a cynical sarcastic american. we’re all like that. fuck this place. seriously. at least we can still have a sense of humor about it. everyone hates us even though it’s only the 51% retards that voted for this president. so that’s the way everyone looks at us. no one cares about the 49% of us that shake our heads in embarrassment. i think the pigeon wants to be an eagle because they’re endangered in america and have all flown to canada.
Oh my. The Bald Eagle is the symbol of America. Hello!!! If any of you knew that it would have avoided all that crap talk. We are all human, who cares where we are from. PEACE
“the reason the pigeon wants to be american is because americans are the overall best people in the world. better than england, russia, etc. america is simply the best country in the world, in every aspect. plus, americans have huge penises. AMERICA! FUCK YEA!”
Yeah… you think that.
Go back to sleep like the rest of your flock.
Half of you Americans don’t even know what’s going on.
(No offence to the people who aren’t dumbasses.)
The Ironic Result here is that the two comments that sparked this anglo-american debate off could easily have been left by British people..
It’s not the Eagle, it’s the Flag.
How swift we judge…
The pidgeon does not wish it was American, it wishes it was an eagle - which is the national symbol of america - and the patrioric flag helps enforce the power of the eagle the pidgeon wishes it was.
Nicely done.
It is sad that one image evokes such anti American sentiment, although it is even sadder that a country built on such noble ideals has seemingly sunk to the level it is perceived have reached. But remember, the US is an amalgamation of all of the cultures on earth. I’m sure they will once again regain their stature as the most respected nation on earth… please
This is 7 dreams reflected in shadow…
the pigeon wants to be regal
the cat seems to want to be a lone wolf…
interestingly the dragonfly wants to be a dragon…
I think it is fascinating the way people want to express thier lack of vision….
Great comments by everyone!
ok people i think the pigeon wants to be an eagle because they are majestic and looked upon with respect rather than being a pigeon everyone just shoos you away or pays no attention to you. it has nothing to do with being american
I’m not sure why the bald eagle is the “king of all eagles” except maybe in the minds of americanos?
It’s not the biggest eagle (the Australian wedgetail is larger in every respect).
These pictures are brilliant. I love the sunset one particularly. Very good work.
I also don’t understand why everyone has to use everything an an opportunity to argue. The artist created these pictures to be inspiring and thought provoking. Stop being so idiotic and just enjoy the photos, please!
These pictures are wonderful. Very witty. How sad though that people with very little sense of themselves, feel forcing their sad little opinions on others by trying to demean the USA through wanton glibness. Perhaps those that feel that the USA is unworthy of their respect may feel impotent within the borders of whatever country they are in. I apologize to everyone else in the world for being American , and will do my best to influence as many in my country to ignore all other countries that will eventually need our help at one time or another. For surely you will. I understand it’s all the rage to hate America now, it’s always in style to mock the big kid on the block. But everyone always seems to run to the big kid when real bullies show up. My wish is that we, the big kid on the block, don’t answer the door any more. This way all the little pigeons will get eaten by the Chinese dragon or the new Russian bear or the big Muslim ‘moderate’, then we can just kick the butt of whoever wins and free the world again like we always do.Always. But do try to be a little more pleasant towards us. Your petty world wars are getting as tedious as your anti American blathering. I think that Saddams of the world should be left alone. If some dictator feels he has the right to massacre millions of people that’s none of our business. They are just pigeons , right?
I like #1 & #3 best. However, I’ve watched a lot of dragonflies in my time (I love them!) and I never saw one that looked anything but perfectly happy being a dragonfly.
Photoshopped? Really? You mean a single engine prop driven plane won’t cast the shadow of an F-18 as it flies over the desert? WOW! I really missed that one. Thanks for opening everyone’s eyes.
“shut up spidula, i know it’s a german name. i keep trying to change it to robert or something, but my parents won’t let me.”
charles, robert is also a german name.
The boy’s name Robert \r(o)-be-rt\ is pronounced RAH-bert. It is of Old German origin, and its meaning is “bright fame”. A favorite name for boys since the Middle Ages. Especially favored by the Scots due to 14th-century king Robert the Bruce and to poet Robert Burns. Roberto is a Latin form of the name. Senator Robert Kennedy; poet Robert Burns; actors Robert DeNiro, Robert Duvall, Rob Schneider; author Robert Lawson; General Robert E. Lee; author Robert Ludlum; baseball players Roberto Alomar, Roberto Clemente.
Beautiful pictures but some how we lost the plot, one or two stupid comments and all other comments are about a pigeon.the best thing you can do with these hopeless hapless xenophobes is ignore then,go look in a dictionary John
I don’t get why a cat would want to be a wolf or why a pigeon would want to be American but they’re all really awesome the dragonfly and the beach ones are the best ^_^
Johnny, you dumbass, of COURSE the pics are photoshopped. That’s kinda the idea! As for the pidgeon casting it’s shadow, I don’t think it’s meant to say that the bird wants to be American (which is ridiculous), but it’s meant that it wants to be greater than what it is - such as the Bald Eagle, pretty much the king of birds. photos are a form of art and art is an expression of the artist’s feelings and/or thoughts. Imagine the pigeon
was a symbol for America and it dreams of the day it was a powerful eagle. I know I hope for the day America is restored to it’s glory. It’s rich to be sure but lacking in everything it was built upon.
I think the pictures tell us about our alter- egos which are general even to the peacefullest creations. Who of us never dreams just only once to be more eagle than pigeon. And if a pigeon’s an alter-ego is to turn into the American Eagle, it’s up to it. Why does someone worried about?
HOOAH oldwolves! We Americans have fought and died so these whiny little shits can trample our good name. All you petty little countries need to remember that not only is America the most powerful nation… actually, fuck that… you need to only remember that we are the most powerful nation… we have the manpower and weaponry to turn any other nation into mere dust (damn hippie liberals are the only reason we didn’t do that in the middle east during this whole endeavor)… we own you, just accept it!
Great pictures, 3 is very emotive.
To enter the pigeon debate i firstly have to say that oldwolf is a very opinionated person considering that he/she is attacking this same expression of ideas, personally i dont see anything wrong with this. I think its great that one photo can great such a heated debate, even if it wasnt intended. Also oldwolfs knowledge of current and past events is quite disturbing…the us have supported many a dictatorship in their relatively short time, they are quite happy to leave them be if they go along with the US…e.g. South Korea before the Korean War to give one example. More detailed example would be in 1953 when Eisenhower approved a plan to overthrow the legitimate president of Iran, Mohammed Mossadeq (he had recently nationalised Iran’s oil industry). The US gov’t organised mobs who caused a bloody war and Mossadeq was replaced by the Shah who gave over half of Iran’s oil fields to US businesses. To be honest most countries have done terrible things…British Empire were brutal…the problem with America (the gov’t anyway) is that they are hypocrytical liars.
I love the pictures they are very inspiring. My favorite has to be #3, very good.
You know I looked at the pigeon one and I didn’t even think of anything that most of you people are arguing about. All I though of was a small simple bird wanting to become a great bird. Maybe I thought to simply of it, but maybe we think to much into things. I agree with old wolves for the most part in what they said.
My thought on this whole discussion on this picture is why the hell are we having it? Is there seriously so much hostility in the world that we have to get into a argument over a picture? As an American I am not always proud of what our country does. But, I feel that am happy to live hear nonetheless. I embrace my heritage (German/English/Native American) and I don’t hate any other country, because of their hatred for us. Maybe I am one of few who think this way, or maybe I am naive, or maybe I am both. But, in any case I think that people need to stop bickering over petty little things.
Wow i have not laughed so much in my life, every post “great pics love no:3 by the way that pigeon”
Please keep it coming.
P.s I think the reason that the U.S does not grind every other nation into the dust is because every time they do start a war they bug out half way through and go running back to the good old u s of a! ( just a thought)
I loved all of these pics and as for the bird one i have this to say. I can see why we are hated pretty much around the world (with current gov being the way it is) but if you stop and think about it we must not be that much hated becuse not only have we not gotten ourselfs in a 3rd world war we also have people on a daily bases wanting to come here from there own countrys. granted we have fallen pretty far from out past greatness i think like other countrys who have had “times of stumbling in the dark” we will see the light and come back to our ways of helping people insted of trying to police them. (we have made a lot of enemys and i would hate to see it to where we will have to face the world in a fight due to our way of thinking. its like john adams said: “The Revolution was effected before the War commenced. The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people; a change in their religious sentiments of their duties and obligations … This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people, was the real American Revolution.” and that i belive is what america and for that matter all nations will undergo one day.
great pictures.
As for the good name of the us how bout when you tried to ignore that there was a war in europe not once but twice in the last century and only stepped in because it started to infringe on your way of life ( pearl harbour in WW2 prefect example)
and as far as turning every other nation to dust well my friends china has nukes and im sure there 100 million strong standing army would have no problem quelling a little american resistance if it wasent for those hippy liberal bastards over there
In the other respects… Great pictures. I certainly don’t think the pigeon wants to be American, simply he wants to be a majestic eagle.
For all non-Americans reading these comments, I apologize for my fellow Americans who are terminally stupid and full of self-loving bigotry. Some of us really are intelligent, worldly, educated people who don’t look at things as though it’s something they should do something about all the time. Blah. You all have a wonderful day.
Highlander it is an old lady whose transition from a little girl is shown through the mirror. The mirror represents time. I wonder if there would have been this strong a debate if the pigeon was looking at an Australian wedgetail or a dinosaur?
Beautiful photos. And please, fellow non-Americans, most Americans are not as dumb as some Americans on this site portray, yet some are even dumber than those people on this page. HA!
Nice pictures (especially the dragonfly that wants to be a dragon). I don’t get why the tress at the end want to be Greek columns (if I’m seeing that right).
Far better than the pictures, though, is the comment section. Wonderful the way some people like to argue. How in the world did politics come up so quickly? And Charles, who started with a brilliant joke, is quickly reduced to insults.
Yeah, they’re photoshopped. Dare I say it? Yes, I dare: LOL!
pipe2andahalf: we know that. you dont have to worry your reputation is actually becoming better these days. things cant stay the way they are, can they? and to the guy who said tchuss, it is spelled tschüss.. with an s and an umlaut in it. oh yes and for the pics: i liked them.

Quite telling that the only animal wanting to be a yank is common British vermin - what we call the winged rat!!
Enjoy, and don’t take things too seriously whichever side you’re on - life’s too short!!!
Tchuss!

December 30th, 2007 at 1:23 pm
Hay all ya all, What am I missing with Pic #3, I just see someone at a beach??
December 30th, 2007 at 2:11 pm
Perhaps the pigeon is an American that wishes to be seen as magnanimous rather than as a winged rat. It makes me think of homeless war veterans.

The Reason There is An American Flag In The Background Is Because It Happens To Be The Best Best Photo Of An Eagle To Reflect The Pigeons Image.

As for the good name of the us how bout when you tried to ignore that there was a war in europe not once but twice in the last century and only stepped in because it started to infringe on your way of life ( pearl harbour in WW2 prefect example)
and as far as turning every other nation to dust well my friends china has nukes and im sure there 100 million strong standing army would have no problem quelling a little american resistance if it wasent for those hippy liberal bastards over there

these are fake….
January 17th, 2008 at 7:48 pm
They’re fake, Brian? Really? I hadn’t noticed. Are people really as stupid as you seem? Maybe hope is lost…
January 17th, 2008 at 7:51 pm
In the other respects… Great pictures. I certainly don’t think the pigeon wants to be American, simply he wants to be a majestic eagle.
For all non-Americans reading these comments, I apologize for my fellow Americans who are terminally stupid and full of self-loving bigotry. Some of us really are intelligent, worldly, educated people who don’t look at things as though it’s something they should do something about all the time. Blah. You all have a wonderful day.

Very nice photos, but I don’t quite understand the first one.
January 25th, 2008 at 2:49 am
Charles, please shut up, you’re giving the rest of us Americans a worse reputation.

HA!

I love the cat photo. He actually looks shocked to see his shadow.
