Why can I never find “Songs for a transgender goldfish”?

m.jackson 10.30.07 at 5:28 am

quato 10.30.07 at 5:29 am

I would seriously frame any of these albums and place them on my wall. I would put Millie Jackson on my bathroom wall.

Derek 10.30.07 at 5:34 am

Uh, dude? Sorry to tell you, but most of those albums aren’t from the ’80s. Not to defend that decade, but you’re off by twenty years with a lot of these. That’s about as accurate as pointing at last week’s new release and saying it was from the ’80s.

mike 10.30.07 at 5:35 am

oh!
this covers are really freak

ernie 10.30.07 at 5:35 am

Most of these covers are about as 80s as Eight is enough, which started in the 70s. The 80s didn’t start until 1983. Rocky III was the catalyst for the 80s Zeitgeist. Whoever posted this isn’t old enough to know 80s irony. ‘A’ for effort though.

pedantic 10.30.07 at 5:37 am

i think only two of those albums are really from the 80s…

Devo 10.30.07 at 6:07 am

All these suck. I’m not an average random internet complainer, but really. I love 80s music. These all suck. Try some 80s goth rock covers, or Devo even. Jesus Christ.

Saman Sadeghi 10.30.07 at 6:13 am

Oh man, those were so awesomely bad!

D 10.30.07 at 6:18 am

solid list but I think that most of those are older than the 80’s… I don’t think Decca existed after the 70’s

brains 10.30.07 at 6:41 am

Probably because you are too busy trying to exercise your wit by posting lame comments on random websites, then compulsively checking to see if anyone acknowledges your genius.

Faith 10.30.07 at 6:54 am

JOYCE!!!!

gay dogs 10.30.07 at 7:24 am

i need to hear the gay dogs one

Zone 10.30.07 at 9:40 am

80’s? More like 60’s & 70’s (maybe even 50’s for one or two of them)…

80’s were MTV, big hair, and the advent of the Compact Disc…

And Ronnie Raygun…

rik 10.30.07 at 11:10 am

hate to say this, but none of these are from the 80’s…more like the 60’s and 70’s.

And D*@N that Joyce is a hottie!

Not You 10.30.07 at 11:34 am

I am forever scarred………..eyes burning………..brain aching………worst…album covers…Ever!

(I am particularly destroyed inside by the 8th album down!)

tgpo 10.30.07 at 12:42 pm

I think a lot of these predate the 80s.

Jeff 10.30.07 at 2:09 pm

Almost none of these are from the 80s.

shinykid 10.30.07 at 2:13 pm

prolly for the same reason “Songs for Bi-Curious Cats” was banned…RIAA.

Skronk 10.30.07 at 5:39 pm

The eighties sucked. Even the food was horrible. If you can remember the eighties you’re having a post traumatic flashback.

LOL 10.30.07 at 8:25 pm

HAY THESE AREN’T 80S! LOL LOL LOL!

Dr. Blindsy 10.31.07 at 12:06 am

Heh.

None of these are from the 80’s… but I won’t waste your time, or anyone else’s time with that statement. Seems way too many people on here have done that already.

HOWEVER… I have to say, as someone who is legally blind, that “The Braillettes” Is made of more win then anything EVER.

Tess 10.31.07 at 12:55 am

Ok, “The Braillettes,” at least the back two, are blind, so I don’t think we should make fun of them…right?

MusicStaff 10.31.07 at 5:03 am

We can make fun of the album cover, not the people themselves ;)
Great page! Some of these are downright creepy…

PistolPete 10.31.07 at 6:28 am

“None of these are from the 80’s… but I won’t waste your time, or anyone else’s time with that statement. Seems way too many people on here have done that already.”

You just did the exact thing that you said you weren’t going to do. Are you mentally retarded?

This Ain't The 80's 11.01.07 at 1:54 am

I think a few more people should point out that these albums are not from the 80’s.

Madeleine 11.01.07 at 5:18 pm

:) Oh My God!!!! I´d love to sit and chat with the art designers of these !! :):)

bulldogsnd 11.03.07 at 12:35 am

I don’t think these albums are from the 80’s. Weird…. i just had deja vu.

Dexter Fisborne 11.03.07 at 1:08 pm

I have these albums - don’t mock them till you have heard them.

Chris 11.04.07 at 6:54 pm

And to think ‘The Singing Postman’ and ‘Songs for Gay Dogs’ were both very popular in the 1960s (not the 80s)…sad, sad decade.

Kristi 11.04.07 at 8:58 pm

ummm does it matter that these are not from the 80’s….why do these even exist at all?!?!

Kim 11.11.07 at 4:13 pm

No..no…the Millie Jackson one couldn’t be for real. Oh no. My favorite is She’s A Big Lass, She’s A Bonny Lass.
I’m a big boned female with Scots heritage. I think thats my moniker now.

StuartDMT 11.12.07 at 4:04 pm

Don’t care if they’re really from the 80s or not - I love ‘em. I love ‘em all! Choice, really choice.

Levi 11.13.07 at 6:05 pm

These are all fantastic. Thanks very much for posting them- you’ve brought much merriment to my house. Although, reading through these comments left has me in mysanthropic despair. Particularly Devo’s comment. I hate you Devo. Whoever you are. (It has nothing to do with your music taste.)

stupe 11.18.07 at 3:04 pm

funny site. Amusing that people seem offended that these are from the eighties. Astonishing that anyone would think they ever existed at all !!

nick 11.23.07 at 6:27 am

the millie jackson one
WHY IS SHE CONSTAPADED AND SINGING I GOTTA HEAR THAT ALBUM

yoshi64 04.11.08 at 5:52 am

Yeah!! (Wrings hands)! Nice blog you have here. I’ve enjoyed much reading your last posts. Keep it that way.

righteous kill trailer 04.29.08 at 10:46 pm

Great albums this is awesome.

Jonathan Franzone 09.15.08 at 4:25 pm

Totally, inextricably awesome post! Those covers are hilarious. I’d actually like to hear some of them just for kicks.
